The short version. There is no app and no account. At the station, Stripe takes your payment and we never see your full card number. We keep a record of each rental so we can charge the right amount. This website sets no tracking cookies and only collects what you type into the venue form.
At the station
When you tap to pay, the payment is handled by Stripe, our payment provider. Stripe sees your card details; we don't. We receive a payment reference, the card brand and the last four digits, the way any shop does.
The station software records the rental: which station and slot, when the charger went out and came back, and the amount. We use that record to charge the right amount, to apply the $50 non-return charge when a charger isn't returned, to handle refunds and disputes, and to keep the stations running. Rental records are kept as long as Canadian tax and accounting rules require.
On this website
- We set no cookies and run no advertising or tracking scripts.
- Cloudflare hosts recharj.ca and keeps aggregate traffic statistics and standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security, for a short time.
- The venue form sends your name, venue, contact details and message to our email. We use them only to reply to you about a station.
Who else sees your information
- Stripe, for payments.
- Our station software provider, which runs the stations and may store rental records on servers outside Canada. It holds rental records, never card numbers.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and routes our email.
We never sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for marketing.
Your choices
Email hello@recharj.ca to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have a form submission deleted. Rental and payment records are kept for as long as tax rules require, then deleted.
The law we follow
We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
